Happy weekend!

My friends, how was your week? We've been in production for the Studio Showcase (a scenes programs with the incredible young artists at HGO), and the show is tonight! It's been such a lovely process, not least because CM and I got to be in the same room all day long. Tomorrow morning we both head out on VERY early flights (the car's coming at 4:30am—ack!): CM to NYC and me to Chicago (more Bohème for me, happily). Luckily, we've both been upgraded, which should help our early morning moods. What are you up to this weekend?

Meanwhile, a few links:

I'm loving the new Prabal Gurung collection for Target. I walked away with this cardigan, which is perfect for brightening up chilly days.

Papa Bossy sent me this amazing video, the first thing I ever saw that made me consider getting a dog.

Wow, this and this have made me feel even better about the way we're eating these days.

We've been researching summer vacations and CM discovered this awesome site for finding hotels. Yes please to ANY of them.

Can't wait to make this! And here's another fave of ours.

The Bossy Cat was feeling left out because I've been posting so many kitten pics, so here she is, in all her glory:

Hope your weekend is filled with smooth travel, museum afternoons, and cuddly kitties! xoxo LMB

  1. Thank you for the pic of beautiful Bossy. To be honest, I felt a little sorry for her, because obviously she is not overly happy to have to share her home and her "parents" with another cat now. And that this cat is/was a tiny kitten who, cute little thing that she is, of course gets lots of attention and love, certainly did not make things better for Bossy. Maybe she feels a little let down and lonely.
Many years ago I tried to give a companion - a kitten - to the single cat who then lived with me. My cat Nr. 1 reacted extremely jealous and was very unhappy with the new situation. After I had spent a two week vacation trying to get her used to the kitten with zero success, I brought the kitten back to the friend who gave her to me. I thought it would be only fair to respect my Nr. 1 cat´s wish to live as a single cat. And this is what she happily did for the rest of her thankfully long life. There are cats who simply are not willing to share their territory nor the love of their human "family".

After a while, when I was ready to adopt a cat again, I took two, brother and sister. They loved each other dearly. When my tomcat died last year, his sister missed and mourned him so much that she got very sick too and died only five months after her brother. This double loss still hurts so much.
Anyway, I keep my fingers crossed tightly that your two furly beauties will not only get along but hopefully will even like each other.
At least a little bit :) Good luck!
